ID Scanner for iPhone
TokenWorks is announcing its first ID Scanner for the iPhone, iPad and iPod. This is the first in a series of ID Scanners for mobile devices. The scanner incorporates our drivers license parsing software, battery and Bluetooth interface. It leverages he same proven ID Scanning technology used for the last 5 years in our products and scans PDF417 barcodes and magnetic stripes found on all licenses and IDs in North America.
What is significant about this product line is we’ve embedded our drivers license parsing engine and Bluetooth capabilities into the scanner hardware. There is no need to incorporate parsing software into another application. Our solution scans the ID, extracts the drivers license data and sends the field data (first, middle, last, title, address, city, state, zip, DL number, expiration date, plus biometric data) via Bluetooth to the Mobile device.
This version works with iPhone, iPad and iPod applications with zero software development. Like our IDWedge product, simply configure the scanner and it autofills an existing form. The big difference is this version works with an Apple mobile device instead of a desktop PC. The scanner pairs using the Bluetooth keyboard interface and literally types the drivers license fields (following a user specified formula) into any existing Apple iOS form. Instead of entering name and address data using the virtual keyboard, now just scan the drivers license.
Watch this video showing the IDWedge BT (BT stands for Bluetooth) scan drivers license data first into the iPad notes application and then into a web based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application running on the iPad Safari browser.
If you have an application running on a Mobile device (Android, Windows, Apple) and would like to scan drivers licenses WITHOUT redeveloping your software, give us a call. We expect to be shipping first units out at the end of this month.
