Iowa driver license and identification cards issued after June 2, 2018 will have new graphics and security features. The Iowa Department of Transportation issued driver licences and ID cards incorporate new and advanced security features to protect against fraud and identity theft. The cards feature the golden dome of Iowa’s capitol building along with the state’s motto and include layered security features that protect against fraud or alteration.
