The Hawaii Department of Transportation has announced that it will begin recognizing veterans of the armed services with a special designation on driver’s licenses, permits, and state ID cards. The optional designation is available to anyone who served in the uniformed services and received a discharge other than dishonorable.
Veteran Designation Now Available on Hawaii Licenses, Permits, and IDs – October 2014
Starting this month, U.S. military veterans who reside in Hawaii will be able to include that distinction on their driver’s licenses and state ID cards. Temporary learner’s permits may also include the recognition for those who qualify. The optional designation from the Department of Transportation is available to anyone who served in the armed services and received a discharge other than dishonorable.
