Arkansas REAL ID Driver’s License and ID Card

On July 9, 2018 the State of Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) began issuing a new Driver’s License and Identification Card.  The new cards have added security and visual features. Arkansas Driver’s Licenses or State Identification Cards that are in compliance with the Federal Real ID Act of 2005 have a gold star in the upper right corner.  Non-REAL ID cards are marked “Not for Federal Id”. From October 1, 2020, a REAL ID driver license or ID Card (ID) will be required for domestic flights.

New Arkansas Driver’s License and ID Card

For cardholders under the age of 21 the orientation of the card is vertical instead of horizontal.  This makes the card easily recognizable as an underage document.  Vertical cards show the date the cardholder will turn 18 or 21.  For further information please visit the Arkansas DFA website.
