CardVisor Software Updates
To update the CardVisor software in the CardTool reader, please
perform the following;
1.) Identify CardVisor Version
First identify what version is installed by selecting the 'about
CardVisor' menu icon from the 'Options' Menu while using the
Magnetic Stripe application (applicable for customers which have
both the bar code and magnetic stripe CardVisor applications).
From the title of the About screen, note whether CardVisor II or
CardVisor III is installed.

For CardVisor software dating before 2003, please contact
support@cardvisor.com for
upgrade details. Original purchasers will be upgraded to
version III or version II at their request.
2.) Determine if Bar Code & Magnetic Stripe or Magnetic Stripe only updater
is required.
There are different versions of software for the Bar
Code/Magnetic stripe reader versus the Magnetic stripe only.
See the product section to determine if
the bar code reader cradle is installed.
3.) Download installation instructions
Click to download the
Updater
installation instructions. Adobe Acrobat is required to
access the document. To get Acrobat reader for free, click

CardVisor II Updaters
Note: The latest versions of Internet Explorer will not download
a *.prc file due to security enhancements to the browser. Use
the zipped archive and use Winzip (available at
www.winzip.com)
to unzip the file.

Software Updater via Web download
TokenWorks provides update software
program that you can Hotsync and run on the Handspring Visor PDA and update the flash memory in the CardTool reader.
It takes about 60 seconds to Hotsync and update. Then remove and
re-insert the CardTool reader to launch updated CardVisor software.
Upgrade & Return
Using the Repair & Return procedure,
TokenWorks will upgrade the CardVisor software in the CardTool
reader. Just send the CardTool reader to TokenWorks in the shipping
container we send and we will return the upgraded product. Note:
There is no need to return the Handspring Visor.
Advanced Replacement
Using the Advanced Replacement procedure,
TokenWorks will send an upgraded version of the CardVisor software
in a new or manufacturer reconditioned to new CardTool reader. When
you get the replacement product, just send the return product back
in the provided pre-paid shipping container.
